God's Grace

Praise the Lord for bringing more customers to Pastor L.’s hamburger shop recently. Continue to ask God to bless his business. Mr. P. and his wife have a donut shop in front of their home. Please pray for God’s provision for it too. We thank God for providing ways for Christians in our church to earn and provide for their families.
Saturday Hubert had a party for his English classes. The youth enjoyed the food and games.  It was great having Abigail here to talk with them. We thank God for a good turnout and that the gospel was given as we talked together after the games. Please keep praying for Hubert’s classes.
Please pray as we are now scheduling dates with our churches for reporting during furlough. We love to tell what God is doing in this part of the world for His great glory.

The Lord is Upright

Our home church, Grand Valley Baptist Church, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is having their missions conference March 4-6. Please pray for God to bless and accomplish great things through that.
Abigail arrived just after 4 pm today by bus and is eager to begin at the Koh Kong hospital tomorrow with me. Pray for God to prepare hearts and lead us as we interact with people during these two weeks together.
Attendance at Hubert’s English classes has been very low lately. In the past God has sent good students and used these classes as an outreach for sharing the Gospel. But now it seems difficult to get students. Please pray.
Yesterday I visited Mrs. K. at her home. The boardwalks above the water to reach her house are steadier than before for which I am grateful.  We are asking the Lord to restore her health if He wills. Please pray for her family caring for her. She loves the Lord.

Witnessing

Thank you for praying for our trip to Bangkok and Hubert’s foot surgery. Things went very well and we were so aware of God’s answering prayer. He has had very little pain. A special boot he wears protects the toes to some extent. We need to return to the hospital in Bangkok in three weeks to have the wires removed. It was a joy to visit the mission church of our friends in Bangkok for two Sundays.
The dates for Abigail Freeze coming to work with us are February 22 – March 7. She is coming from another province in Cambodia where her parents and family work. Her Khmer language ability is very good. She would like to see more of medical missions and how God uses it. Besides learning medicine, please pray that God would use her time with us to help people come to know Christ. Pray that we would be a blessing to her. Pray for God’s guiding in her life as she chooses her course of study to prepare to serve the Lord in the years ahead.
Please pray also for Mrs. M. who is in our church here in Koh Kong. She wants to spend time with me at the hospital regularly in order for us to witness together to patients and staff. We so desire to see God work through us and draw people to Himself.

“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22

Fixing our Eyes on Jesus

Praise the Lord that yesterday Koh Kong Baptist Church called Mr. L. to be their pastor! We have been preparing for this step for a long time and are excited to see it happen. Please pray for continued wisdom from the Lord and for all of us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Our trip to Bangkok for medical care was postponed a week. Thank you for praying and please keep on. God must have something special happening in Koh Kong this week and wants us to see it. Hubert is happy to have more time teaching the new students in his English class before being away for a time. This evening his lesson was by candlelight since the power was off in our house and neighborhood. We are grateful to God that it is back on now so I can use the computer.
