God's Work

Our first month back in the States has passed so quickly. We appreciate hearing from Christians in the church in Koh Kong by phone. God is continuing to help them. Reporting in the churches here in Michigan is going well. Please continue to pray for the Spirit of God to guide in the preaching of the Word and for listeners to know how God wants to use them in missions. 

Please pray also for our support needs. Another church just notified us that due to their financial situation they need to decrease our support. I pray for each of our churches and for the individuals who give to the Lord’s work through us. God will provide their needs and ours. We will watch Him work.

Praise God for the furlough family times He has given us and for those scheduled ahead. We helped celebrate my mother’s 87^th birthday. We plan to babysit our grandchildren Adrianna, Caleb, and Josiah Teachout for four days starting July 31. Pray for good times together and for a good trip for their parents. Cherith and Jonathan need to pick up their new visas for continued ministry in France. We desire to impact our grandchildren to know God more and live for Him. To do this it is so important that they see us walking close to the Lord.

“For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 1 Cor.  10:26

God is Faithful

Praise the Lord for the Koh Kong Baptist Church permit! We talked with Mr. L. by phone today and he said it came through from the government office in the capital. Thank you for praying so long for this. The church is going well. God is blessing the preaching and fellowship. Christians are teaching and visiting the shut-ins. The teachers are finding ways to print verses for the children’s classes. L. is going up to Tema Bang in the mountains weekly to teach. He and others are going to Cham Yiem faithfully on Sunday afternoons. Please pray for the church. Pray that it would grow in grace and in number. Miss L. is taking exams for entrance to University. Please pray for her also.

God also answered prayer and blessed us with an encouraging Baptist Mid-Missions annual conference last week. The sermons and workshops were great. The fellowship with other missionaries and council members was great. It was a time of refreshing. God helped us in our speaking responsibilities there too. He is so faithful always.

Our first meeting for reporting to our churches was at our home church, Grand Valley Baptist Church, on July 17. God was working in helping us prepare and in working in lives of those who listened. Please pray that as we continue to speak in churches, God will guide in all that we say and that people will respond to God’s call in their lives and serve Him anywhere He leads.
