Mobile Medical Clinic

God showed His working in many ways yesterday during our trip to Pum Koh for a medical clinic. It workded best to do only a one day trip and not stay overnight.  Koh Kong hospital provided transportation—one of their ambulances. Three people from their staff went also, so we were a team of nine people. The mountain roads were rough. Motion sickness was an issue and we held on with both hands much of the way to stay in our seats. Hubert rode his motorcycle with one passenger. After three hours we arrived at the remote mountain town.

The room available for the clinic was occupied by lots of ants which we battled first and then set up tables for consultations and giving meds. Mr. L. preached at the beginning of the clinic in the morning and again in the afternoon. We provided care for 108 patients. Hubert and the four Christians from our church talked one-on-one with many waiting patients and families. Many people heard the gospel.

On the way back, about twenty minutes from the town where the clinic was held, we had to ford a wide river again. It was shallow because of dry season and rocky, but the far bank was steep and sandy. Our vehicle got stuck in the river trying to go up the bank. It took about 1 ½ hours to finally get out. Watching, we knew God would accomplish it but wondered how. We are grateful for the help of people from the town. We reached home at 7:15 pm. We continue to pray for God’s working in hearts of people who live in Pum Koh and in the hearts of the team who went up. May God be glorified.

He is Awesome in His Deeds

Although our regular prayer letter was just sent out, here are some additional prayer requests:

-Our computer is giving more problems as well as our internet wires coming into the house. Pray for these issues to be resolved.

-My airline tickets to Greece for a continuing medical education conference in the spring (not one of the Cambodian seasons) are messed up right now. Pray for resolution.

-We need to make yet another trip to Phnom Penh this week (20-21^st) to fill out forms at our bank because of problems with our account. Please pray.

-Praise the Lord for a nice visit last week with L., studying medicine in the capital. God is helping her with her exams and she continues to get good grades. Her computer just quit and probably needs replacing. Funds are available, but pray for the best choice. Pray also as she begins new responsibilities in teaching the children’s Bible class in her church.

Praise God for His Answers to Prayer

Praise the Lord for

-          A great OASIS conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There was great fellowship, singing, and messages from the Word of God. Our youngest daughter was at the conference as well, which we enjoyed immensely.

-          I gave my testimony about God‘s leading in my life at two prayer meetings in Thailand. God blessed in those presentations and the conversations with Christians and with unsaved.

-          A wonderful week with our son and daughter-in-law, Hans and Thuy and their two children. We met them in Bangkok and brought them to Koh Kong.

-          The baptismal service February 5 went well. Only Christina, our granddaughter was baptized. Three new believers in Koh Kong chose to wait. Their families are opposed to their being Christians.

Please pray for

-          Our traveling to Phnom Penh February 12-14 to get Hubert’s Romans Commentary printed, buy medicines for a mobile clinic, visit the dentist, and run other errands.

-          People in the English classes and at the hospital who are hearing the gospel. We desire to see more disciples made.

God is powerful and is working here in Cambodia. We thank Him for the strength He gives each day.
